reSolve tasks offer a clear and practical approach that supports purposeful teaching and encourages student-led learning. In my classroom, they’ve sparked deeper thinking and more meaningful discussions. Students are challenged to think critically, justify their reasoning, and consider different perspectives. I’ve witnessed countless ‘aha’ moments as students become more engaged, reflective, and confident in tackling complex problems. They are less focused on simply finding the answer and more interested in understanding the reasoning behind it. It’s incredibly rewarding to see them persist through challenges and articulate their ideas and questions with clarity.

reSolve Maths is a powerful example of high-quality teacher resources. Kristen Tripet and Naomi Fitzgerald delivered an engaging and practical workshop that not only showcased the depth and quality of the reSolve resources but also modelled effective mathematics teaching. Our participants left feeling inspired and empowered to take the learning straight back to their schools and classrooms.

reSolve offers something very rare in education: a set of resources and PL offerings that are meticulously crafted, linked to the best available research evidence, and just feel right. Their approach is based around students engaging in meaningful mathematical inquiry through problem posing, reasoning, justifying, multiple representations and more. Explicit teaching is braided throughout to ensure students have the knowledge and skills needed to engage in genuine mathematical thinking.
For the past two years Kristen Tripet, the Maths learning area manager, has shared this approach with teachers at the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership. Participants were resoundingly positive, commenting on the new tools added to their pedagogical toolbox and the shift in their way they think about mathematics.

I’d like to acknowledge the high quality and thoughtful design of the reSolve Maths, Primary Connections, and Science Connections programs and resources. The materials reflect a well-balanced integration of current research and practical classroom application, which is incredibly valuable for teachers aiming to design and enact effective teaching sequences.
The website is intuitive and well-structured, making it easy to navigate and locate resources. I also appreciate the thoughtful lens through which the content is presented—it's inclusive and supportive of teachers at all stages of their careers, from early career to experienced educators. The support provided by the Australian Academy of Science — particularly from Kristen Tripet, Naomi Fitzgerald, and Helen Silvester—has been consistently generous, insightful, and greatly appreciated.
